It would seem to me that the batteries included at the time of purchase of a lap top are adequate but possibly not the most powerful simply because that would noticeably increase the price of the unit. Think about it price for many people is the final yard stick where a small number of us do

Yvonne, u really need to have a headset to plug into your computer, because if u try to just use microphone speakers, you'll get terrible feedback. Truthfully, it's best to use a good quality USB headset w/skype, but, if u don't have that, you'll need to at least plug a headset into your computer
