This is where the Mark feature, Control+V, can come in handy. Each time you use it it’ll place a numbered marker and then if you come back to that spot it’ll announce Marker and the associated number. There are times when I’ve used it to mark the intersections of certain branching paths. Right now, I've reached a lever in the wall that is locked in position, if I try to blow it open with my timed blast mine, I get a message that there is no escape from this level.
