Is it specific to vinyl, or a small group of materials? I ask as nothing
else seemed to do the trick in your examinations.
Is the standard Acetone the solvent for this, or is there a specific Brand
named solution?
Also, what are the steps of use? Is it a

Hi all,
I finally found a glue that does a good job gluing solid nylon. Its called
Surehold Plastic Surgery. I took two pieces of nylong ¼ by ¼ by 6 inches
and glued them together to see how well Plastic Surgery would bond the two
pieces together. After gluing them together, I put the

Why not just a strip pushed up under the flange of the lower piece then
snapped in under the bottom lip of the latching upper piece? You could form a

I never once thought that gluing the nylon would present such a problem. I
still like my idea and I'm currently looking into other materials and their

Hi,
That's the problem. There is a piece of siding that's not latched to the
piece below it for about half its length. If I move the offending piece up

Edward.
If you don't want to do the job right, than get some headless aluminum nails
to match the siding. Nail the offending piece every 4 feet . Or cut off the
nailing flang and drop itdown to hold the siding that u cut and lock the
upper piece.

That's a huge set of specs, I doubt there is anything.

just replacing the siding, but then I'm not there.

Hi all,
Well, I finally have pieces of nylon in the sizes I need for my project.
What I need to do next is glue some of the pieces together. As it turns

research on the Internet, I found a product called Surehold
My technician, who can manage to glue almost anything, says
he's never found anything that works with nylon.
Depending on the strength you need, it might be possible to drill and tap it
then use machine screws, but I don't think you'll get a very sturdy result.
I'll ask my tech again wednesday
Tom's tech may be exactly right.

Hi Bob,
The first thing I tried was J. B. Weld. It took almost no effort to
separate the two pieces of nylon after the glue had set. Most of what I

super glue is temperary on nylon; got a eally good fit, on thoroughly
cleaned cane tip; got a good hold too. Next day, before it was restrung to

How about the glues for pvc or pecs pipe?
