Hi Robert,
thanks, I will definitely give the refrigerator dolly a strong
consideration.
the collapsing stairs is an issue only because my basement steps are in
pretty bad shape. Apparently, there was termite damage about 12 years
ago. The stairs were eaten up pretty badly and no one has
Spiro,
I really like the idea of cutting a whole through the floor and sliding
the radiator down. That is actually almost worth considering. I wouldn't
need a crane. A couple of ropes and belay devices and it could be done
pretty easily.
Now getting my wife on-board with that one may be a
Robert, I think an appliance dolly could handle the weight. As long as it had
the stair tracks on the back, it'd probably be OK. I had a piano escape from
me while I was unloading it off a van once, and it was not pretty. So, I tend
to be a little over-causious. So, I'd still want a block
Well, the floor isn't quite done yet, so I could cut a hole without
messing up the new hardwood.
the ramp idea has been at the top of the list from day one. I would still
use rope and belay to control the slide down the steps.
The alternative is for me to put on my dress and heels and strap
Dan,
Jeez another crazy successfull mechanical engineering job!
congrats!
Do you have a nearby window out of which you can just heave the thing and have
it land somewhere near a cellar window? If the stairs are that bad, what
leads you to believe there is anything high to which to hang all

Dear Dan:
When a big job is too much, make it several small jobs. I have a Milwaukee
saws-all which will make fairly short work of the radiator. Hauling ten loads
of forty pounds would be much easier than one trip with four hundred pounds. A
good metal blade on one of these saws will
I don't think a refrigerator will come to any more than 200 pounds if that.
They are mostly empty space and light weight foam insulation.

Hi Keith,
I am still a young brewer. I boil
water and malt extract in the kitchen just the way you started.
I don't get as elaborate as you. I buy brue kits and all the
ingredients are pre measured to achieve a particular brew. I may get
in to a larger set up and do more envolved brewing when

Is there such a thing you might ask, such as any type of sump pump
maintenence .Well there really is not, in my opinion except keeping
debris from the area of the impellers. I say this as most newer pumps
that set totally underwater are sealed units. Recently we discoverd that

Hi all,
The beater bar on my vacuum cleaner has developed a really annoying squeak.
The noise is coming from a small wheel at the front of the beater bar. I'd
like to lubricate it but I'm not sure what to use. My guess is that most
lubricants would cause dust and dirt to build up on the wheel.
