From what I understand, what you need is raw un-iodised salt so dishwasher
salt should fit the bill.

Well, I fixed it - but I didn't get any new parts as being in Canada it was
kind of hard to track stuff down - so I took everything apart which for the
most part wasn't too difficult - just the stuff that you really have to
torque on it - like the boiler stuff. I wrote my procedure down - I guess
