Howdy,
I had tagged the current head as release-0_91_001 a few days ago. This
includes changes Philippe Michel made to the neural nets, and a fix to
the asymmetric MET processing. I've been using this for a few days, and
everything seems fine. It compiles without issue on Ubuntu and Windows

Thanks for the tips.. I just thought it would be easier to set up positons if
gnu could allow you to simply specify "I'm bearing off in this (bottom left)
corner" rather than having to go into settings and switch each player's
colour. We communicate something like this when we set up a given posit
Glad you've finally sorted it.
You have to put the chequers on the board for the direction gnubg is set up to
play. You can't put men on the 24-point and then tell gnubg that it should be
the 1-point, and oh, these are the other guys men!
First set up the direction of play, then put your chequ
I think I found a workaround but it wasn't really intuitive for me.
I went into 'Settings' -> 'Board Appearance' -> Chequers(0) and Chequers(1)
menus and swapped the colours of Player 1 and Player 2's pieces, then set up
the chequers, names, cube, score, turn etc in gnubg from scratch. Red is now

I'm pretty sure the 'position' (with regard to checkers) is set up
correctly. It's getting gnu to accept the 'direction' of real life play
that's the problem. I've attached a photo of the live game I am trying to
reproduce in gnu.

Look at the pip count! Are both sides playing monster back games?

Thanks again,
I'm pretty sure player turn has been set to be red. Red (me) has rolled 3-2
in the move list (move #4).
I've also attached a more detailed image of the GUI's red direction of play

The position posted shows White to play 3-2, not Red. That's why the points are
numbered from White's point of view.
To change who is on roll, click the small chequer icon next to the players'
names. Click the centre of the board to bring up the dice selection window

Many thanks for your input Ian - I did already try that. It only seems to
switch the 1 point between the *top* two corners.
The situation I am trying to set up is

Chequers always bear off into the tray nearest the 1 point.

Hi,
Please can anyone help?
Please see attached screenshot..
I'm red and I'm trying to work out how to choose to bear off my checkers in
the *bottom right tray* but I can't seem to find a way. Edit mode seems to
only allow me to bear off at the top left or right?
