xfs,
what version of IceCat were you trying to install? Did it match the
architecture of your CPU?
What is your device make and model?
What's your device CPU architecture and clock speed, and how much RAM
memory does it have? Also, is there enough storage space to install
stuff?
Why do you
i was not implying that your concern was irrelevant; but
relatively speaking, whatever your objections to javascript are,
they are immeasurably more applicable to your operating system
if you have no objection to using a proprietary OS, but you do
object to running some javascript on it, that is

You are agreeing to something I never said.
"The issue is about Android" (= not about desktop)

i fully agree - that is *the* issue - android is non-free
software - i suggest that the root of your problem is not
f-droid nor icecat; but that you are insisting on running a
non-free OS but refusing to

I don't see how it can be more comfortable to carry a
desktop computer in one's pocket. The issue here is
about Android.
P.S. top
I think you'll be more confortable with Tor Browser for desktop
computers, and use JavaScript there.

enable JavaScript and even worse: to use Google's
proprietary

upstream developers normally are not involved in downstream
packaging - the person who built that fdroid package is almost
certainly the only one who can address your issue
i see from their website that they have a bug
Hello,
I cannot install IceCat using F-Droid on Android 4.1.2.
The app gets downloaded and when it comes to
installation, the required permissions are shown and I
have to choose between "Install" and "Cancel". I tap
"Install" (again and again to infinity) but the button
simply doesn't respond.
