Which version of uBlock Origin are you using? I had some issues with
uBlock 1.14.0, the version where they fully moved over to WebExtension mode.

On GNU/Linux with IceCat 52.3.0, it works as intended. Might be unique
to the Android version of IceCat...?

Greetings all,
I recently noticed that uBlock Origins was labelled incompatible with
IceCat 52.1.0. The author published a new version (1.14.0) which drops
the support for any Firefox-based browser that does not support
WebExtensions. It looks like IceCat page saw that version and updated
uBlock
Great, thanks for the quick response!

g that you have a somewhat recent release of IceCat (45 or
higher), I'd say you can install the add-on without much further ado.
HINT: Just in case you don't know the version you have installed, you
can check it via Help → About IceCat.

oji, even after restarting.
Do you know of anything that I have missed and could check to see why
IceCat doesn't display Emoji unless on unicode.org?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

However, that's just my two cents, so feel free to ignore it.

Hi David,
No, the issue is not reproducible on the firefox-esr package I got on
Debian 9 (Firefox ESR 52.7.3 64-bit). There, it displays all emoji with
the EmojiOne Mozilla font, which seems to be provided by Firefox
itself.

. It's no big deal,
really.
Now all emoji that I wanted to display show up just fine.
Thanks again for your help, Mart!

Now the Emoji actually do show up. They're way too big, though ^^
I'll play around with the font settings and see if I can manage
this; Maybe I'll have to use a different font.

Hi Goran,
Does the same error message appear if you first download the
extension's XPI and then try to install it via about:addons → Gear icon
→ "Install Add-On From File..."?

As far as I know, this behaviour is also present in Firefox ESR, so I'm
quite positive that this isn't something that should be (or needs to
be) addressed on this mailing list.

that, I generally agree with bill's line of argumentation
that IceCat's purpose is not to generally support everything, but
rather to provide a free software browsing experience for people who
don't want to rely on non-free content.
