The good news: Compiling m4 from git *does* install the examples.
However, they files are put into `/share/m4'; I still suggest
to change the target directory to

Well, if you install from the source tarball, it's fine, of course.
However, I'm using openSuSE's m4 package, and it doesn't come with the
examples. I'm rather sure if `make install' contained rules
[Please CC to me since I'm not on the list.]
Is there a specific reason why the M4 examples are not installed? I
suggest to add them.
