Well, I’m near Uvalde dove hunting and for us it was a non event. It was overcast and didn’t really even get dark. Cal Birdsall N5BR Sent from my iPhone 713-419-1977 > On Oct 14, 2023, at 4:35 PM, Mike Knerr via BVARC wrote: > > > I have a ft891 radio running a 40 meter efhw > Normally I

I worked POTA at the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge on 17 meters during the eclipse and had lots of contacts. Rudy Ackerman KF5QYG 281 460 7384 On Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 04:35:39 PM CDT, Mike Knerr via BVARC wrote: I have a ft891 radio running a 40 meter efhw Normally I

I have a ft891 radio running a 40 meter efhw Normally I can receive and send on 40 and 20 meters. During the eclipse all I heard was high noise. I could not hear anyone. Was I doing something wrong? Did the eclipse screw everything up? Inquiring minds want to know. Mike Knerr KI5UBL 73
