It also has a SCR over voltage protection on the output. Clamps the + to
ground...the fold back circuit in the 723 prevents burn up. If it hums when
turned in, I'd check that first. Remove the OVP and check voltage unloaded.
I have an Astron RS-35A here that is DOA from the lightning strike. There
might be some good spare parts in it, or you can try to fix it. Free for
pickup. I also have a couple of computer cases and other junque available.
