Robot36 has an "auto mode" feature that's supposed to detect the mode.  Looks

When you are decoding images (even if not from ISS) how do you know which mode

I have run MMSSTV through my HRD setup to DL SSTV FM from the ISS using my 
IC-7100 (internal Sound Card).  I don't see any reason that would not work with 
an HT and a Signalink if you had the Signalink cable for your HT.  I am not 
certain you could do it through your computers sound card

When you are decoding images (even if not from ISS) how do you know which
mode to use , like Robot36 or Scottie?

Just take the speaker audio from the HT to the computer. And your good to go 
with MMSSTV.

It works very well for that.  Like from the ISS starting next week.
