The abrasive should be in a powder format, not sandpaper. Place a few drops of water and abrasive between two pieces of glass and rub the surfaces together in a random orbit. The abrasive can be purchased at your local lapadary store (jewerly supply). 500 grit works fine as well. 1/2 a pound
