Hey Tim,
Unfortunately, the one Gb Ethernet block is exclusively for ROACH2.
The ROACH-1 board only has 10GbE outputs (or XAUI) directly from the
FPGA via the CX4 connectors.
The only way to get data out on a slower connection is via the PowerPC
on 100mb Ethernet, using either the katcp interface
Folks
I have a few questions on the 1GB Ethernet block:
1. I assume the block connects to one of the CX4 ports on the ROACH 1 board. Is
this true?]
2. What is the data format on the CX4 port? Is it 8b/10b encoding?
3. Can I make a simple board to simply wire the CX4 pins into a cat5 connector
