Just a quick message to note that Shawn Billerman, Andy Johnson, Matt
Young, and I saw the King Eider from the marina at Myers late on Friday
afternoon (3 Dec 2010). We observed it for about 10 minutes around 3:45
pm, and then watched it fly south in the company of 4-5 female Common

I just got back from Wisconson for Thanksgiving, so I wanted to give
people a brief description of birding highlights.
In Ohio, we stayed at a hotel on Lake Erie. I got good looks
at Ruddy Ducks and several Bonaparte's Gulls on the lake. As

from marina

permission) from noon till at least 1:20 pm.

This year will be Audubon’s 111th Christmas Bird Count. The Cayuga Bird Club
again will organize the Ithaca count on their traditional date of January 1.
That is a Saturday this year, and should allow for many people to join in.
