I just updated the leaderboards for this year's Sapsucker Woods Big Birding
year, which runs from 10/01/10 to 9/30/11
(http://birds.cornell.edu/bigbirdingyear). So far, 44 species have been
spotted by the highest non-Cornell Lab staff participant, and the checklists

We have two of our six feeders enclosed in wire cages (from
Agway) --- one has a seed tube inside, the other has a suet cage.
i have written before how a persistent red squirrel sits INSIDE the
cage all day, eating everything and keeping birds away. I don't
