Thousands and thousands of Aythya sp. continue. Best viewed by taking access
road along railroad tracks that cross rte 90. Mostly redhead, lots of
canvasback, some scaup sp. Also american widgeon. Western grebe not found but
would be needle in haystack.

Just wondering if anyone is birding around the lake, or up here at the north
end tomorrow (Sunday). I have a rare Sunday off and would like to hook up with

Quick notes on Seneca Lake St Park for Sat AM. Bald Eagle (mature) is still
hanging out across the canal from the marina, Am Wigeon, C. Goldeneye, C.
Mergansers, Bufflehead, Mallards, Black Ducks all present. Couple swans too far
out for an ID. No sign of the Egyptian Goose.

Took a trip with my birding pals, Dan Watkins, Jon Weeks
and Rich Youket to the east side of Cayuga Lake.
First stop was Stewart park for the WESTERN GREBE and
we found it pretty quicklydistant...but seen well in a scope.
Also seen well from East Park. We also had 2 RED-THROATED

A Pileated Woodpecker flew in and made the rounds of our backyard as we
were observing for the GBBC today.
A Carolina Wren also showed up again after weeks, singing all around the
backyard, celebrating the count weekend. A Bluebird has been singing for
several days.
The lone Redpoll has not
The White-winged Scoter that Dave reported from Salt Point is hanging with some
Goldeneye south of the lighthouse at Myer's Point.
