On Saturday I got out to some of my survey sites in the Pharsalia area.
Highlights were 2 SHARP-
SHINNED HAWKS, 1 juvy RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 3 COMMON RAVENS, and 4 Type 3
RED CROSSBILLS
and one Type 1 RED CROSSBILL (the types were not
Judy Thoroughman, John, Confer, and I drove up the lake Sunday,
leaving Ithaca a little after 11 am. Our first stop was to view the
breakwater at the marina in Union Springs (best seen from Rt 90,
looking out between houses). Hoping for terns, we did find one
juvenile Caspian along with

I was on van Dyne Spoor Road today about 1 pm when I saw a mostly white bird
perched among about 1/2 dozen Redwing Blackbirds. It was on a dead snag to the
south of the sixth telephone pole after the woods. Put my binoculars on it
from and could see it was only slightly smaller than the
Bobolink???

An albino blackbird would be far more likely.
