An adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON found this afternoon by Ethan Chaffee is
still perched up high in Renwick Woods just inland (east) from the trail
along the inlet just as you reach the lagoon.

The nest (new?) is atop a utility pole just past the Sheriff's Dept. on the
northbound side of Warren Rd. and opposite Borg-Warner. Passing by there
this afternoon I glimpsed just a bird's head.

This morning atop a tall chimney on the Union Springs Academy campus, I
observed a pair of copulating turkey vultures.
This is late but last Wed. a.m., (13th) a golden eagle came flying
right over our house. Had very good binocular views of all sides of the
bird with the sun showing
Nice chorus of Hermit Thrushes this morning along Beech Hill Brook in the L-P
Preserve. Ruby-crowned Kinglets singing in all directions. Fox Sparrows are at
or perhaps past their peak now. One singing Winter Wren. No Louisiana
Waterthrushes yet. That's got me wondering: like many other streams
