Saturday, May 6 & Monday, May 8, shorebird conditions in the muddy corn
stubble were excellent. Field is being pumped, and conditions may dry up
quickly. A mixed flock of over 200 shorebirds flushed and settled back into
the field this afternoon. Best

this eList—to those who are not actively engaged with the CayugaRBA GroupMe
alert app, or who have not set up an eBird RBA notification for hourly rare
bird sightings in Tompkins County—there was a shy adult male
That osprey nest near Buttonwood Winery is the one I reported last weekend or
so! There was an osprey on the perch but I didn’t see any nest building action
although it looked as if there were some nest materials already there.

That's an extremely rare bird that hundreds of birders across the state
would have been interested to hear about. Could you provide some more
details about age, field marks, and any behavior?
