I couldnt tell when I saw it today. It dove a couple times but I didnt see it
fly. There was also a snow goose there today too that was uninjured as it flew
fine with some canada geese.

Kittiwake was not present between 830 and 9. Scoured thru all gulls from spit
to lighthouse. Thanks for updates as I will be at Montezuma and will stop on

1st year male ORCHARD ORIOLE flew across wildlife drive near pulloff number 6
between Larues and the carp crossing. Bird was singing sporadically too.

Went with Dan Watkins to Montezuma today. Started in the northern section on
Carncross road. It was very windy which hampered scope viewing to some extent.
Gone are the large numbers of yellowlegs of about 10 days ago. Now the
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS have come in with quite a few in the muddy
Singing Howland island in woods to the left as you drive in near the end.

Just had a flock of COMMON TERNs fly up the lake. I counted 14. Good lighting.
Darker wings, narrow tern like wings. Good looks. Saw black caps and
Red bills. Also BANK SWALLOW passed by low.

Fairly steady flight of gulls and terns up the lake so far.
Had a couple flocks of BONAPARTES GULLS, and 2 more COMMON TERNS. Also ring
billed gulls too heading up the lake.
Also PURPLE MARTINS hanging around. Are they nesting in the martin housing?

at the beginning of Towpath road and 4 UPLAND SANDPIPERS at Lott Farm Seneca
County

Radars are lit up with bird echoes across the northeast and mid Atlantic at
present and a cold front with showers will move across central NY overnight
grounding migrants.
I would expect more new arrivals and a decent day Friday!

Cayuga lake is totally ice covered from 2.5 miles north of the Aurora Village
border all the way up as seen from rte 90. Mud lock is frozen. Seneca river is
frozen. Incredible.
