Cardinal, House Finches ,Am. Robin, etc. at or under our feeders this

Several pairs of Eastern Meadowlarks were active in the fields on the
north side of Lake Rd. near Rt.90; approximtely 150 yards west of Long
Point Winery yesterday evening. One pair of Meadowlarks had been seen in
the same fields for approximately two weeks. Also our pair of resident

I had the good fortune of seeing four Trumpeter Swans, I believe, flying south
along Cayuga Lake in
Aurora. My identification was reinforced by the sound of the birds calling as
they flew by; the sun was
shining and the swans were a beautiful bright white against the blue-gray sky.

Three Mute Swans were foraging in shallows about a quarter of mile south
of the entrance to Lake Rd. as you leave Rt. 90. The birds were
easily viewed from the high bluff as you drive south on Lake Rd. The
swans were joined by a small flock of Mallards. Also of interest were

We had the good fortune of discovering a pair of Evening Grosbeaks at our
feeders on Sunday morning;
this is the first visit of Evening Grosbeaks to our feeders in 20 years. What
