The cold temperatures and deep snow have increased morning activity at our
feeders, but the diversity has been restricted mostly to the "usual suspects".
The white-throats appeared a few days ago and the Carolina wren is new. We are
blessed with woodpeckers-many downies and red-bellied and occ

Sorry for not posting this before. Sunday evening Marshall Iliff found a
Canvasback x Redhead hybrid in the flock of Canvasbacks off the ice edge
between Stewart Park and East Shore Park. This is very likely the same bird
seen a few times last winter in the same area and later at Myers Point. I

I just got a call from Joe Brin, who says that Richard Crossley was passing
through Seneca Falls today and saw the GYRFALCON near the Seneca Falls
landfill. That's all the information I have, but it is good to know that
the bird is still around.

Just a reminder that the Seneca Falls Landfill uses falcons for gull control.
I think they have a number of birds and I'm pretty sure some are hybrids where
Gyrfalcon may be a parent. This from 2012 shows some of the birds.
