Saw this for my first time last year. Saw pileateds feeding on Virginia Creeper berries and then, for as long as the grapes persisted on vines in a maple at the front of my driveway, had them visit for that fruit snack everyday. Just goes to show, as birders, we've never seen it all. Keep on

Ann Mitchell & I went to Montezuma NWR today.  The biggest highlight for me (year bird) was the GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE which she picked out among the swimming CANADA GEESE at Knox-Marsellus.  It later flew to Puddler's along with several hundred SNOW GEESE.  We were not able to pick out any Ro
