At my home on north sunset drive in Cayuga heights the goldfinches are feasting
in the largest numbers I have seen here in 10 years. For the past month there
are at least 20 on the feeders during the daylight hours.
On an unrelated note, the ticks also have returned in large numbers :(

Just to follow up on Ken's original hope, there was nothing on Dryden Lake
today, either. One Pied-billed Grebe and a small pod of chilly Mallards.
White-headed Lesser Black-backed Gull continues on Stevenson RD, but nothing
else to report.

With the passage of this strong front, I headed to Cayuga Lake today around
noon and watched from East Shore Park and then Stewart Park. Not much to
report, actually -- the only possibly new arrivals were a flock of 7 male RUDDY
DUCKS off the east side of Stewart Park. Still 30+ PIED-BILLED GREB
COMMON RAVEN soaring & calling over Ithaca's West End just now - new yard bird!
Also heard Monday in City cemetery.
