At my home on north sunset drive in Cayuga heights the goldfinches are feasting in the largest numbers I have seen here in 10 years. For the past month there are at least 20 on the feeders during the daylight hours. On an unrelated note, the ticks also have returned in large numbers :( Barbara E

With the passage of this strong front, I headed to Cayuga Lake today around noon and watched from East Shore Park and then Stewart Park. Not much to report, actually -- the only possibly new arrivals were a flock of 7 male RUDDY DUCKS off the east side of Stewart Park. Still 30+ PIED-BILLED GREB
