Was in a tree near the canal boat tie up on the Seneca Trail off of Wildlife
Drive at 3pm this afternoon. It was quite active and flew across to trail side
and was sitting in a tree right near the trail. Beautiful bird and worth the
trip. I was doing a Northern Harrier survey for the refuge and

Just a few minutes ago, there was a Brown Thrasher on the platform feeder
where there are some black oil sunflower seeds. It flew to a nearby
crabapple tree where it was joined by a second B.T. These are FOY for us.

Must be the rain? A number of returning migrants (Balt. and Orchard O., Wood
Thrush and Veery, and some warblers) arrived at my house last week, sang
briefly then fell silent until this morning. Now they're all singing' in the
rain.

Hello Reid,
I am not going on the field trip but am heading over to the Lab of O by
7:30 to lead the public walk there. I could pick you up. Is it possible for
you to get to Robert Purcell Union by 7:10? Or tell me what works.

Hello everyone,
Regarding this Saturday's Bird Club trip, would anyone be able to pick up a
transportation-challenged college freshman from somewhere on Cornell's campus
prior to heading over to the Lab? Email is rb...@cornell.edu if anyone is
interested.
Many thanks,

I woke this morning to the sound of our Oriole back in the yard. This is two
days later than last year, and for the last ten years one has arrived between
May 4 and 7.

colonies in late May and early June. I'm most curious about predators of
aerial-nesting yellowjackets and bald-faced hornets
Our annual Baltimore oriole is once again foraging and singing in the tops

Nothing new around my place this morning, unless the Nashville Warbler I came
