Greetings,
We had two Woodcock “peenting” in our backyard this evening. It’s unusual to
have them here when there is still so much snow on the ground. Also had a FOS
Fox Sparrow trying to scratch up a meal through the frozen snow.

A walk along the trail from Weber St. to the end of the lake was pleasant and
productive for birds. There were numerous HOODED MERGANSERS, RED HEADED DUCKS,
a pair of CANVASBACKS and MALLARDS along with geese and beaver. We rustled up
two WOOD DUCKS near the far end of the lake. There were quit

Just located an E. MEADOWLARK singing from a treetop in a nearby field. That
is, I can see it singing, but it's too away for me to hear.

So far in March, my sightings of the roosting EASTERN SCREECH-OWL in our
nest box in northeast Ithaca seem closely correlated with outdoor

Average daily temperature ? 23°F: Owl seen 12 out of 13 days, including

Now near point/spit at Myers Park, Lansing. First saw beautiful N. Pintail male
sitting on ice edge in waters of Lans. Town Marina - he was leaning down with

posture while trying to move a little.

Hello Good Birders,
Has anyone out there ever de-oiled a bird? Is anyone considering heading
to Texas to help with recovery? I can't seem to get it off my mind. I left
my name with Houston Audubon, although they are only utilizing licensed
wildlife rehabbers and experienced de-oilers right now.

A basic adult RED-THROATED LOON is visible distantly to the northwest from
East Shore Park, seeb better from father north. Several White-winged
Scoters are still in that area as well. Lots of wigeon and a pair of
NORTHERN SHOVELERS are mixed in with the Aythya flock along the ice edge.
