A single Common Redpoll graced our feeders in Brooktondale yesterday,
spotted by my daughter, Lisa.
Two days ago we had our first-ever Carolina Wren visit the suet, and
it's back again today poking around the vines on our house. I hope it
stays. It's not too often we get a new yard bird
Along with 5 other adults one juvenile is a neck-banded Tundra Swan
on Mill Pond. The band is turned in such a way that I couldn't see the
number. Perhaps someone with a good scope can see it post their
findings. The swans have been on the pond for a couple wks..
Gadwall continue on both
Today our feeders are very busy with finches. A flock of 40-50 Goldfinches is
being joined by 5 Pine Siskins and 3 Redpolls.
Hunt Hill Rd., east of Ithaca.
