I believe I probably saw those same two rough-legged hawks (that Kevin mentioned) this morning, at about 11, as I drove on Sapsucker Rd. north of the lab going to Rte. 13. The light one flew right along over the road and then the dark one came from behind and followed it for a bit. Afterwards

On this white, frosty morning our feeders are buzzing with a group of about 20 Redpolls and 6 or 7 Pine Siskins. They are constantly landing for a few moments, then flying up to the trees, then landing again. It's hard to get an accurate count! They fight among themselves for the feeder perches.
