[cayugabirds-l] FOY yard birds
It seems like the Chipping Sparrows, Eastern Towhees, and Eastern Phoebes all took the same flight in to the Finger Lakes this week! Yesterday I saw a chipping sparrow at the feeders. I also heard, then saw, the towhee bopping around in a thicket at the edge of the yard. This morning I heard the phoebe singing! Unrelated to birds, I also saw my FOY bats in Geneva on Tuesday. [cayugabirds-l] FOY yard birds!
Several singing eastern towhees and a gorgeous male Rose breasted grosbeak among others in my yard today! I’ve put out hummingbird nectar & a hanging tray of grape jelly with an orange in case the cat birds, Orioles and hummingbirds come by. In the fog here in yard a FOY RUBY CROWNED KINGLET foraging, singing & showing his red crest; I heard possibly a Black Throated Green Warbler but never got to see it. WHITE THROATED SPARROWS singing "oh Canada Canada Canada" all around me, along w/ usual regular feeder birds which include a large flock of A.GOLDFINCHES. Along with burgeoning spring buds & flowers, it makes a great start to the day! Feeling too sick to get outside today, so my FOY yard Rose-breasted Grosbeaks and Baltimore Oriole came to my window feeder (together!) for my viewing pleasure.
