The Henslow's Sparrow that was singing for some time at the Schlabach farm
south of Owego in Tioga County now has fledglings, per the landowners. They
are still open to guests coming to look for the birds. The farm is at at

On April 2 there was a single anonymous eBird report from northwestern Tompkins
County on private land not close to public roads. The observers said they heard
a sound like Henslow's based on comparisons after the fact, but did not
actually describe it, seemed to be unfamiliar with the song, and
I've checked, the fields hosting last year, but no luck yet. I wouldn't put
much stock in that, because W. King Rd. / Sandbank Rd. are really busy and
noisy. The listening can be tough.
I think it's worth surveying these and other areas especially with the
Dickcissel invasion happening currently
Just wondering if anyone has seen/heard them yet this year around Ithaca?
