We were enjoying several displaying woodcock last night and figured we had about
five in a small area. As we were walking up the road, one timberdoodle flew at
head
height across the road immediately in front of us and settled in a field. Never

Since Janet said the wildlife drive was partially open, I went to Montezuma.
The eagle is at her nest at Mud Lock, and though I could not see any, she acted

several Mallards and Canada Geese. I also fou
I have long wondered how male PILEATED WOODPECKERS settle who gets the
female. I was just headed out to town when I saw 2 males on a large walnut
in our yard. I watched the battle for 15 minutes before one was vanquished.
I got a lot of notes, but basically it is very like a fencing match. They
