I think BROWN THRASHER has been reported earlier this season at Sapsucker, but
this morning at 730ish, one was perched in a 20' high shrubby tree just north
of the lawn at entrance to power line cut (that is, right across from the 2nd
parking lot), but was more easily seen from the 3rd parking

Black and white warbler singing and foraging in the trees around the Mulholland
parking lot, heard then found with Stuart K.
Also FOY blue-headed vireos deeper in the woods and up by the second dam, where
four ring-necked ducks (3m 1f) continue to linger. Very birdy morning.

After searching for Field Sparrows yesterday in different fields (in the
non-stop winds) I ended up hearing and seeing one at the Swan Pen after
seeing the Audubon's Yellow-rumped Warbler. It is always surprising what
you can find there.

I realize this is a bit late, but wanted to get this out there anyway, in case
anyone wanted to go see some Fox Sparrows that may still be in the area.
Yesterday morning from about 7:30am to 8:30am, there were still 5+ FOX SPARROWS
in the brambles section down in the North ravine from the
Went down to Stewart Park to look for Audubon's Warbler which I missed
seeing yesterday. I did not see the warbler this morning but took photos
of every bird I saw. Upon reviewing the photos on my computer I have
found one not very good photo of the Audubon's warbler. So he is still
there.
I forgot to add this yesterday, A pair of Carolina wrens are building nest in
mailbox of 105 McIntyre Lane near Beebe lake. I stood and watched. They were
totally oblivious of my presence.

Hi all,
Here is a heads up that we are soon going to conduct another giant binocular
review for Living Bird magazine and web site — we have more than 100 binocular
models ready to be reviewed! Jessie Barry and I will be leading the review and
writing up the results.
As with past optics
the Yellow Rumped warblers ( I saw two at least) were there battling the
wind and staying low where it was easy to see them at about 4:30 today.
A heads up, one of the big willows near where you walk in on the East
side and leaning in over the pond is split and looks like it could go at

Hi,
I am piggybacking a bit on Ken's Living Bird binocular review email to say that
if all this new binocular talk results in you upgrading your binos, I am
seeking the donation of a few pairs of nice binoculars for a community-run
ecotourism project in Taveuni, Fiji.
