[cayugabirds-l] Towhee on deck

2010-12-24 Thread Rhea Garen
My partner called me at work yesterday very excited about a male Towhee we had on our back deck. Apparently the bird grazed our back glass door and stood for a few moments on our deck before flying off. Seems an unusual siting for this time of year. Rhea Garen Hopkins Rd. West Hill, Ithaca

Just looking through the digests for the last few days and saw no mention of robins. We saw about a dozen robins on Sunday afternoon. They were browsing in a patch of bare grass on swamp college rd in Jacksonville. Rhea Garen Sent from my iPad -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http

Willow flycatchers are back on my road this AM. Now I know it was safe to remove the snow tires! (Usually I'm not convinced until the lilacs arrive but they're not out yet...) Rhea Garen Hopkins RD. West Hill -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME

There is a bluebird box right in the middle of the small dog park that is often occupied, so I suspect they'll get used to you. I have wondered at what an ideal location that box might have. The canine presence likely keeps other predators at bay. Rhea
