FOY at feeder this morning. Follows a female Oriole yesterday. Now if only
the warblers would make the climb to this chillier hilltop. Envious of
those lowland reports.

Well, all my expected migrants showed up this week. A hummingbird showed up
this morning. It was eating from flowers on a weed in my patio. I’ve often
believed that they will go to a natural food source before the feeder. I’ve
had my feeders out for a week now and again I saw it on a flower
1 or more of my many orioles yanked off 2 of the 4 bee guards from my H-bird
feeder so they could drink more easily! Even broke one bee guard!
Still no H-bird here.
I saw 2 different Indigo Buntings today & just saw my FOY American Redstart.
Also 2 female Rose breasted Grosbeaks with one male &
Finally, our FOY hummingbird showed up at the feeder today. Yay!

FOY Male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. Crashed into my window, landed on the
deck and after a minute shook himself off and buzzed away. The day after I
put up my hummingbird feeders. Got a couple good photos of him while he was
collecting himself.

About 1:30 a male Ruby-throat showed up at the feeder that has been primed
for a week. Shirley's work has not been in vain.
Now, where is the Oriole? The orange slices await.

Just had my first Ruby Throated Hummingbird come in to a feeder. It was a
gorgeous male. It came to the Oriole nectar feeder which the Orioles haven't
used yet. It's jelly for them. I have two male Orioles and one female so far.
The Grosbeaks may have just been passing through so I've just

It was very windy. It stopped only for short time each time it came.

Hi all,
During lunch time today Hummer was observed
I saw the hummer again today, about 3:30pm. I happened to be within about 5
feet of the feeder when it showed up (working on winterizing an exterior door,
no camera handy). I got a better look and did indeed see a rusty hue on its
side when it perched on the feeder. I didn't get a good look
We still have a hummingbird coming to our feeder, seen again today. Killing
frost last night will result in many/most of the flowers dying. Hope she makes
up her mind to head to warmer climes soon.

Just one more sighting to add to all the others. I've been hearing from a
woman in Mecklenberg who still has a young male Ruby-throat coming regularly to
her feeder and she's got the photos to prove it.
