Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Alias commands

2011-02-25 Thread Stutz, Bernhard
I always use this alias:

Alias exec cue ser ser 0/0 sess

Its getting handy in setup phase when you want to have a quick look how
far the reboot process is gone.

With CTRL+SHIFT+6 x and then disc 1 you can go back if the module is
still rebooting.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] cBarge in SRST:cbarge softkey not appearing

2011-02-25 Thread ShinGei Yong
Hi Tamer,

Thanks for the link, but it just stated that it doesn't work without any
further explanation.
In fact there is a workaround to resolve this by Cisco, pls refer below:

*CSCti11843 Bug Details:*

Shared-line Cbarge remote-in-use softkeys not working in SRST
Symptom:

For Shared line if you want cbarge you must disable privacy and enable
remote-in-use softkey under ephone-template. However if you configured SRST
CME with srst mode auto-provision none or dn privacy setting on the ephone
remains default which means it is on. Hence you can’t disable privacy.

*Conditions:*

When phones fallback to SRST.

*Workaround:*

Only workaround is to either configure:

ephone 1
privacy off

or configure srst mode auto-provision all

And yes, i just make it work few min ago. Just that the behavior is odd.

Shingei.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Sending calling name and isdn numbering plan in certain calls

2011-02-25 Thread Ki Wi
Let's say for local call and 911 in US, the question asked you to send
calling name.

However, it's not mentioned for national call and international. If I send
calling name, am I correct or wrong?

For another case,
for certain call, i'm suppose to send via HQ and BR1 as backup for
1212394 ( subscriber call in HQ but national call in BR1)

HQ's requirement is to send isdn number type and numbering plan such as
ISDN/subscriber. In BR1 is not required.

When i create a route list, should I set the restricted those information
while sending to BR1?

** i'm a lazy person but i'm afraid to get lazy score as well =( **

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] T1 card : no of channels if no is not specified

2011-02-25 Thread Rahul Kapor
Hi all,

Need you suggestion

while configuring controller , if no of channel is not specified in
question , then what should be assumption

configure all 23 channel and only few ones

I always prefer manual configuration of mgcp with few channels. Is this
approach fine ? or should i do automatic configuration that will configure
all channels ?

Please suggest.

thx,

can you put same debugs on PSTN-WAN router???
deb h225 asn1

I know it will not be allowed on a real exam, but I think in this case there
is something wrong there.
As you are sending LRQ message to the Remote GK, but you are not receiving
any answer from it.

2011-02-25 Thread Hough, Earl
It's the same as all the others. 80 is the minimum required to pass. As
always, if you do pass the lab you will not receive a score. Just a
notification of PASS. Otherwise, you will receive a score with percentage of
correct points in each of the major categories from the blueprint.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] ISDN switch send unallocated number but call still ringing

2011-02-25 Thread Ki Wi
I met a very interesting scenario...

When I send a wrong number to PSTN, the PSTN switch told the gateway it's a
unallocated number. The call is not released. Both PSTN phone and My IP
phone both are still ringing. Either party can answer or hang up the call.
When connected, PSTN phone shows g711 codec while my IP Phone shows g729
codec.

When I called the correct number (making US local number call out of this
gateway from the same phone) , everything is fine. G711 is used and voice
passes thru.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] V2 Lab8 3.1 Conference 10 party

2011-02-25 Thread rsmail...@solcon.nl
Vol2 Lab 8 3.1 Conference:

10 person conference.

ok on the UCM settings
but should the config on the IOS side not be changed to support the 10
persons ?

default per session is 8 party and you have 2 session.
if you change the participants to 16.
you only have 1 session left.

so for a 10 party conference, should you change the default of 8 to 16 on
the IOS side of the conference.

Ron

Did you solve this?

If not, can you also post your CUBE configuration? It ooks to me that your
CUBE was failing outbound calls to PSTN-WAN.

2011-02-25 Thread Ki Wi
I forgot that I have HQ as alternate gateway. However, i saw some traceback
error then rebooting the gateway resolved the issue. =(

Is it a requirement to use cube to pstn-wan ? Looks like your cube doesn't have
route.

I tried cube. You need to have a inbound dialpeer to accept the call and a
outbound dialpeer back to gatekeeper.

 Hi Jay,

 Did you solve this?

If not, can you also post your CUBE configuration? It ooks to me that your
CUBE was failing outbound calls to PSTN-WAN.

 Regards,

 Bo

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] V2 Lab8 3.1 Conference 10 party

2011-02-25 Thread Roberto Reyes Alanis
Is correct, in the IOS configure until 16 participants, and restrict in
the CUCM, and if the question is in CUCME you can restrict the number of
participants with the dn's.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] SRST test in proctorlab

2011-02-25 Thread Erwan Erwan
hi guys,

What is the quickest way to test SRST in proctorlab ?

1. I felt that using the button menu SRST take some time before go to SRST
and back to normal mode

2. if I use   CCM Group that just contain  PUB or SUB, it also take
sometime (at least 3 minute).   And most of time , I have to enable and disable
the Call Manager service

Thanks in adv for tips
