I tried the microseeding using Hampton seeding tool
(http://hamptonresearch.com/product_detail.aspx?cid=18sid=157pid=448) for
under oil microbatch (without caring about wiping out seed by oil). It is
possible to seed the microbatch drop this way.

you may try partial denaturation during purification steps ( i.e. to include 3
M urea in your gel filtration or ion exchange or N-nta buffers), that may
loosen up the interactions without complete denaturation. You may afterward
dialyse to remove urea.
