Ok, so this is going to be somewhat painful. The issue is definitely in tooltalk - it goes into an infinite loop shortly after trying to start it's RPC server (not rpc.ttdbserver - different animal). Periodically, it then tries to start another one, because it thinks the previous one is

I'm running the last Archlinux. The wiki is out of datem but I don't know how much since I can't get it running. The AUR has the file list you should use. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cdesktopenv/ You'll also need libtirpc, of course. The rpcbind file is now in: etc/conf.d/rpcbind On
