[CentOS] grub permission denied

I have one server that I can not edit the /etc/grub/grub.conf file. I get permission denied as root. I can change other files just not grub.conf. after unmounting /dev/hda from /boot and mounting under /g for a test the same things occurs. Even in single mode I can not modify / delete / move the

Is SELinux enabled? What do you get for these?: lsattr /boot/grub/grub.conf ls -la /boot/grub/grub.conf Is there anything in /var/log/audit or /var/log/messages? I should have stated that SELinux is disabled. Here is a listing: [EMAIL PROTECTED] /]# lsattr /boot/grub/grub.conf
