Is there a ceph command to fetch the cache-tier information for an EC pool?
For example, you add a tier with ceph osd tier add ..., but there
doesn't appear to be an equivalent get operation.
Likewise, getting the tier cache-mode or overlay doesn't appear
possible with the current tools in

For compression, I prefer to implement it in ECpool, it is much easier
because objects in ECpool are already striped, which is what we have
already finished now(and in testing). And the only Append write
operation is allowed in EC, which is also lead us to implement it
conveniently. Moreover, as

Hmm, the only changes I see between those two versions are some pretty
precise cleanups which shouldn't cause this. But it means that a
bisect or determined look should be easy. Can you create a ticket
which includes the exact output you're seeing and the exact versions
you're running?

Hi,
I think I am eventually able to figure out what is happening.. First, here is
the step to reproduce it in any kernel (not specific to 3.16/3.18 as I said
earlier)
1. In a SSD create a big journal partition say 20 GB or so.
2. Make all the filestore/journal parameter default other than the
Hi Ken,
The commits with a + are found in v0.94.1.3 and are not in hammer (the previous
mail related to v0.94.1.2 can be found at

$ git --no-pager cherry -v ceph/hammer
Thanks Greg!
Yeah, I will double check..But, I built the code without tcmalloc (with glibc)
and it was also showing the similar behavior.
Thanks Regards
Somnath
