And is that a CF site? That's important, and you have to have set up the site correctly (configured a testing server pointing to a CF server). Another issue is that DWMX is sensitive to the type of the template that you've opened. It has to be a CF page to allow access to the CF components tab

Ya that's been my biggest gripe about DWMX. It tends to decide what u should and shouldn't have access to...like it's trying to hold ur hand so you don't make a mistake. Sometimes u just wanna pop open a DB table and reference something...but no! You gotta open a cfm/cfc document first!
