Sorry I cannot comment on Hostek, but I would recommend working with your
host and getting to the root of the issue before putting in the work on
moving things. I just know that can be a hassle and you could wind up in

Is it possible to run a CF7 reinstall to recover this directory without
overwriting my existing installation and configuration?

Hi guys, long time no speak.
Hardly doing any CF work these days, but still looking after a couple of
long time customers on CF 7.
I know it's old (ok, ancient), but it does what I need it to do. I've

available to it) in CF10 one needs to edit the solr.lax file. Problem is, I
don't have a solr.lax file anywhere on the server. Does anyone know the

Are you running an external Solr instance? Check the CF admin settings under

You could also leave the current install as is. Install a fresh copy

Just curious, but couldn't you install it on a different computer (even a
laptop) and just copy the directly you need over without all the

Without testing it myself I can't say for sure, but I think it
probably would work just fine.

the common reasons PHP becomes slow is an overloaded server, if the disk IO
is not fast then PHP suffers.
This does not affect CF in the same way because cf templates get cached in
memory by default.
To determine whether one host is going to be any better than another, the
