I just went through this myself, going half-mad (since * does work in an

Zac,
Though I didn't originate this, thanks for the advice. I was going to
pose the question today regarding using text in a database versus just
having CF include a .htm file of the text by way of referencing the file
name in the db.
If I could pose a slightly different question (I assume you'r

Peter,
If I'm reading you right, you may be running into the same issue I had
earlier this week (SQL db on one machine, drive mapped to my computer,
couldn't get datasource to map or PWS to alias non-local location).
Here's Chris Lott's advice, which fixed me up nicely:

Chris,
Thanks mucho! That did it. Important tip for my first use of SQL server.
I guess I was still thinking in Access terms while trying to connect up.

Heya, all,
Here's hoping there's a way around this - though I'm not terribly
optimistic. Here's the deal:
I just set up SQL server (6.0 - I know it's old, but it's the only copy I
have at the office, and if I want to get them to upgrade...well, you all
know the drill!) on a spare machine, set up
Heya, Terri,
OK, admitted CF_Novice coming out of normal lurk mode, but heck, here's
what comes to mind. You may have already thought of this but want to do
it differently, but...
What about setting the coordinator's registration process to be able to
only approve 1 student at a time? That way,
erm,
Am I the only one getting the messages from the last few days delivered
*again*?? Is there some weirdness happening with the list mail server?

Yes! I'm new to CF, too, and I can't tell you how many times the CFWACK
has helped me out. The book is filled with good examples, but more
importantly, I've found the writing to be very "user-friendly", which is
something often lacking in programming books...
So by all means, pick up a copy of th

If you're asking can you run IIS on an NT workstation, I think the answer
is yes. You'll need to download the "NT Option Pack" from MS website
(make sure you get the NT workstation and not server version!), which if
I remember correctly comes with IIS 4.
You might also want to check out this IIS
Heya,
Try making your validation and see if it
works. I think it may be case-sensitive, so the function is being thrown
off.
