You can use procmon to gain a bit of insight onto what is happening
with the file.

It could be the permissions aren't quite right, or perhaps it's just a CF bug.

How big is the file. If it is too big maybe cf is timing out. Just srchive
it manually if you want to keep it otherwise delete it.
