Make sure you talk to a lawyer in your state. There are different rules in each state (and obviously each country) in regards to work-for-hire, consulting and ownership of work product. My contract basically says the client has an unlimited use license for the code I've written FOR THAT

Hmmm - I've gotten myself into a slight tricky situation with a client that has full FTP access to their files, and I'm worried about them grabbing and running. In good faith, I want to leave the site up and running, but I'm looking for a way to hide some key elements if they attempt the grab

Yes, CF encryption is breakable. There is a site where you can go and decrypt them. However, it is unlikely your customer will know how to do that and they would have to pay someone to do it for them, so odds are if you encrypt them the won't be able to do anything with them. Now I am going to
