I don't know if XP supports Win32 like previous MS Software, but you ought
to give Apache web server a try. Built by people who care about software q
uality, not by people like the dork M$ rep you met.

Jason asked:
My questions are: what is the personal web server equivalent for XP.
On XP pro, it's IIS. (I don't know if XP Home comes with a web server)
Can I do the same thing on XP?
I don't see why not.

As long as you are using XP Professional, you can install IIS (it's a
limited version similar to PWS). No problems.

Keep in mind that CF 5 Professional is the only version of CF supported on
XP Pro, there are no current versions of CF Server supported on CF Home.
Just an fyi.

Probably not. PWS stopped being supported at Windows ME, I believe. When I
tried to find a PWS
You HAVE to have XP Pro. I found this out only AFTER I talked to the MS Rep at
CompUSA, where I bought XP Home. The funny thing is, I explained to the dork M$ rep
that I am a web developer who does a lot of work from home on my home machine, and
they pushed Home on me rather than Pro.
There is no PWS for XP. XP Pro has IIS. We used CF5, Apache1.3.22 on XP
home and it works great. Just make sure you add the LoadModule line after
all other module calls in the init file and you'll be fine.
