My hosting company has just informed me that the CF7 instance for a
site I maintain is using about 65% CPU at the moment (on a Solaris
machine). The site uses quite a few frameworks - ModelGlue,
ColdSpring, Transfer and Javaloader.

some suggestions:
1. find out what exactly is running on that machine and on the instance (i.e.
if there are
other instances, if there's a DB server running on the box etc)
2. JMeter is a helpful tool, but it'd be a good idea to have a look at what
your CF server
is actually doing.

Regarding FusionReactor - we actually purchased a licence for this
last year, however it seemed to have such a negative performance
impact on the server to the point where we had to switch it off
because we were having to restart the CF service a few times a

I dare to say that _if_ installing FR on your server and using
it to monitor your system makes CF crash all the time then
the issue is most likely _not_ FR but some underlying problem
with your overall infrastructure - somewhere in the stack
from Solaris via Java via CF up to Apache.
