I've been with Mike Kear/AFP Webworks for several years and am pretty happy. I may even have a new domain to get for him (WIRES - they look after injured animals). Pretty much everything I need to do can be accomplished with the control panel.

I recommend and use http://www.netregistry.com.au/ Not the cheapest, but one of the biggest and IMHO the best $44.95 for 2 years. They are all the same, although some of them will registrar lock you meaning you can't move the domain anywhere. Others might be more expensive if they

It's for this reason that I _never_ use web based whois... Unix/macosx has dig, and windows has nslookup. You can use these tools to query domain availability without tipping anyone off. (Unless your upstream DSN servers are dodgy, but I've not actually heard of that happening). Simon Haddon
