[cfaussie] Re: Passing the '' symbol in a URL.

2007-10-04 Thread Greg Misdom

Hi Travis,

%26 replaces in a url. so your url should read :

?Category=Tables%26ChairsCategory2=Leather

you should probably have a look at the URLEncodedFormat function,
that might help somewhat.

mizdog!

 Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone knew if coldfusion had a special
function that could read the symbol passed into a URL - rather than
treating it as a URL appendage?

 i.e:

 ?Category=TablesChairsCategory2=Leather

 On the receiving page...

 Field1 = 'URL.Category'
 Field2 = 'URL.Category2'

 My problem is that:-

 Field1 = Tables
 -- and should be --
 Field1 = TablesChairs

In my database, there are many symbols, and when this is passed in
the URL, anything after the symbol is dropped.

Hopefully Coldfusion has an easy fix to this.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

 Cheers,

 Travis.

[cfaussie] Re: How can I allow a user to _type_ a date into a datefield in a CF7 flash form

2007-09-17 Thread Greg Misdom
Hi Darren,

you could just replace it with a text input and set the validation to
eurodate.

regards

mizdog!

On 9/17/07, Darren Tracey [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I have a CF7 flash form with some datefields.
The default behaviour for these is that you have to use the calendar
control to put in a date, and to change months or years you have to do
many, many, many clicks on the arrows on either side of the date.
Clicking in the empty text box next to the calendar icon only opens
 the calendar.
The users and I would really like to be able to just type a date into
the text box, but this doesn't seem to be an option.
LiveDocs talks about the HTML version being able to type into the
 field.

Does anyone have a way of allowing a date to be typed into a CF7 Flash
 form datefield?

This is a large existing app, so unfortunately changing from CF7 or
from Flash forms is not an available option.

 Darren Tracey

[cfaussie] Re: ajaxCFC and IE7 Issue

2007-09-11 Thread Greg Misdom
Hi Jonny,

I played with this a little a while back and found that using firebug on
firefox was a good way to get a better interpretation of the js error
messages.

On 9/11/07, jonny_noog [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

 Hello,

I've been working a fair bit lately on a project that uses ajaxCFC,
and I have just come across a strange bug that I was hoping someone
may be able to shed some light on. I have a page where the main
scripts that make up the JS side of ajaxCFC are present, when a user
clicks on a element on the page, ajaxCFC is used to send form data to
the server, nothing really unusual. And it all works just beautifully
 in Firefox.

But in IE7 when the page loads, I get one of those unhelpful error
messages from IE that tells me:

 Line: 9
 Char: 3
Error: 'null' is null or not an object
 Code: 0
URL: the page I'm looking at

It seems that the issue may have something to do with util.js, which
is part of ajaxCFC, if I comment out the line that includes util.js,
then the error goes away but is replaced with another error
complaining that DWRUtil is undefined, due to this object being in the
file I just commented out and this object being needed to serialize
the form data to be sent.

So I guess my questions are:

1: Can anybody tell me how to interpret this crappy error output from
IE? Within which file should I be looking at line 9? As it's not the
HTML page I'm looking at that's for sure. Looking at line 9 in util.js
shows me a comment line, not code...

 2. Has anyone come across a any similar 'null' is null or not an
object errors with a JS script that works just fine in Firefox but
 gives this error in IE7?

Any help much appreciated as always.

[cfaussie] Re: Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Service.

2007-04-05 Thread Greg Misdom
Hi Sean,

don't know if this will help, but last time i got an error like this, that
wasn't corrected by the technote solution first up, was because the
collection was in a different location than standard and had been either
overwritten or deleted by accident. I was able to track it down through the
log file they mentioned in the technote :
C:\JRun4\verity\Data\services\ColdFusionK2_indexserver1\log\status.log

good luck

Greg

Please verify that the ColdFusion MX Search Server is installed and
 running.

The search server is indeed up and running. I've restarted it a
several times. As well as the application server and the odbc server
for good measure with no impact on the error behavior.

The following tech note provided a cause and solution for this behavior.

 http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=6c6881a9pss=rss_coldfusion_6c6881a9

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be applicable, and the suggested
 resolution doesn't really work.

Has anybody come across this error and have a handy solution available?

Its a production server, so Ideally I'd prefer not to have to restart the
 box.
