The best deinterlacing process I've used in the past is the QTGMC
script. The quality of the de-interlaced videos it produces can be quite
spectacular (it introduces virtually no visible artifacts) when pushed
to its maximum quality.
However, it is very complex to use and requires a very long

You're right Phyllis, I tend to see in the gang mode only an
optimization of the vertical space, but in reality this is not its basic
objective, which is rather related to the simultaneous configuration of
the multiple associated tracks.
